Ep. 49: Brand Pillars Exercise [ Marketing 101 ]
Jul 10, 2020
Jul 10, 2020
23 min
Today we're diving into one of my FAVORITE exercises to do with clients.
Before you begin, if you haven't already listened to the Mission and Vision episodes, please go back and do so now before you begin this one.
Brand pillars are three to four words/characteristics/emotions that you can use to describe your brand - at all times. For example, Marketing for the Uninhibited is marketing that is SIMPLE, DOABLE, AND FUN.
I love this exercise so much because it really helps business owners (especially all you new ones) to start thinking of their brand as it's own personality, not just an extension of self. This where we really start to develop the brand and how we want it to resonate with people.

How can you plan for the future if you don't know what you want your future to look like?
Grab your journal, clear some time on your calendar and let's get started!
In this episode, I'm discussing vision statements, dreams, and future self - the importance of them, setting aside time for them, and some other ideas that will get your mind thinking ahead in your business and in your personal life.
This is the first episode in a 7 part series where I'll be walking you through exercises that I do with my clients and in group workshops to build a simple one page marketing plan that you can use as a roadmap for your business (and decision making).
If you don't have a marketing plan or are interested in revising your plan, then these episodes are for you!

There is a helluva lot going on in the world right now!
That's why, on this episode, I'm asking YOU a question that you've probably been asking everyone around you: how are you doing? Seriously, how are you R E A L L Y doing? If you can, take this time to stop what you're doing, grab a journal and get honest with yourself about the answer to this question.
Our mindset determines how we show up in our marketing, with our clients and in our day to day lives, which is why I'm taking a little time today to help you check-in with yourself.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be giving small business owners and entrepreneurs a chance to share how they're handling business during this pandemic.
To keep things consistent, I'll be asking everyone the same five questions:
1. What is the biggest shift you've had to make in your business?2. What are you doing to address this shift?3. How is your business community responding?4. How are you taking care of yourself (and your family, employees, clients, neighbors, etc.)5. How can we support you and your business right now?
The goal is to provide a wide range of perspectives that educate, inform and inspire. At the very least, maybe these will help you feel less alone during this crazy time. Learn more at marketinguninhibited.com
